I can't tell you how many times a client has asked for the RAW footage and never used it or worse used it and made themselves look extremely unprofessional by doing so. There are two reasons for this.

The first reason is that almost all professional video companies will be filming in a LOG setting on their camera which makes the footage looked washed out with no color until is has been color graded. There are few clients that I have had who can even do basic color correction and even if they can, they do a very poor job that makes the footage still look unprofessional and therefore the brand look unprofessional.

The second reason is that the marketing professional at your company is not going to wade through the hours of uncut footage to use for a social media clip, event promo or company announcement that they want to put on linkedin or social media tomorrow. Even if you have a dedicated video person, odds are they won't have time either.
